Training

Training Policy  Books

It is Topek's policy to obtain 100% CSCS certification for all employees.

The Company will seek to obtain CSCS cards for all site-based and site-visiting staff. As part of this goal, all employees must obtain a minimum NVQ level 2 qualification.

Implementation

Topek operates a Register of Approved Subcontractors. The criteria for approval require subcontractors to adopt the same policy towards CSCS cards. The Company monitors subcontractors to ensure such policies are satisfactorily implemented. Other than under exceptional circumstances, the Company will not place work with subcontractors who are not included in the Register.

The vast majority of the Company's site-based and site-visiting employees perform supervisory or managerial functions. For such staff Topek will require them to obtain appropriate grade CSCS cards (Gold or Platinum) where they meet the relevant criteria. Where such staff fails to meet the criteria (such as where they have insufficient experience) they will be required to obtain the appropriate craft card (Blue) until such time as they qualify for the higher card.

The Company will ensure that each member of staff of approved subcontractors obtains a grade of card appropriate to their duties. The Company will expect all experienced operatives to hold the craft (Blue) card.

Craft cards are issued only after successful completion of an NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) level 2.

The CSCS scheme forms only one element of Topek's integrated and structured training strategy for both employees and subcontractors. The Company acknowledges the benefits of both CWCT and NVQ training in a more general role than simply to meet CSCS requirements.

The Company has sought accreditation to deliver these two important training regimes in order to provide maximum flexibility and demonstrate commitment to the training process.

This committee is also open to external architects, main contractors and clients whom already are finding our demonstrations and lectures of excellent value. lectures of excellent value.
