Carnegie Leisure Centre, Dunfermline
Topek Limited were awarded the sub-contract to carry out the refurbishment works on Carnegie Leisure Centre in Dunfermline for Barr Construction and Fife Council in August 2010.
The majority of the works involved stripping the existing felt roof coverings and installing approx' 4000m2 of new Sarnafil single ply membrane roofing system under the Sarnafil Roof Management scheme, however, additional work elements included constructing a large Plantroom using Standing seam and Kingspan composite panels. Marley Eternit fascia and soffit panels, Alumasc rainwater gutters and access requirements were also under Topek's remit.
The detailing and design for the project was very complex from the offset and details were often designed and approved by Sarnafil whilst being installed on site over the 30 week programme duration.
